Mortgage foreclosure
A New York mortgage foreclosure goes through court, and a referee conducts the foreclosure sale. Before the auction, a sale may still be possible if the mortgage payoff and other closing obligations can be covered. Stopping the foreclosure by paying the lender requires the full amount owed, including applicable interest, fees, and costs. The New York Courts foreclosure guidance explains judgments, payoff, and requests to stop a sale.
