A tax sale is different from mortgage foreclosure
When real-estate taxes go unpaid, Mercer County can put the property up for a tax sale, and the County's notice gives the date. A sale agreement alone does not resolve the tax claim. If a sale closes before that date, delinquent taxes may be paid from the proceeds only if enough remains after other liens and closing costs. Call us as soon as a notice arrives; timing matters. (Real Estate Tax Sale Law, §§601–603.)
A tax sale concerns unpaid real-estate taxes and is handled through the County Tax Claim Bureau. Mortgage foreclosure is a separate lender and court process. Check the notice and current status with the office or court named on it.
