A Redfin median sale price summarizes completed sales; Zillow’s typical home value is a separate model, and its inventory measure counts homes for sale. They answer different questions, so keep the source, place, and period beside each figure.

What the numbers mean

A Trenton-wide figure does not price your house

The Redfin median above describes completed sales in Trenton, NJ during Three months ending August 2026. It is a comparison point, not the value of a particular address. Size, condition, access, repairs, title, and sale terms can change the comparison.

Condition and repair needs can affect both the likely listing price and what it costs to prepare for buyers. If tenants live there, access and occupancy timing matter too. A seller facing a deadline should compare the actual dates and carrying costs rather than assume the citywide median predicts how long one sale will take.

Downtown Trenton and Chambersburg are local orientation examples, not substitutes for checking the property itself. We buy houses as-is, in any condition — no repairs, no cleaning, no cleanout required to sell to us.

New Jersey selling costs

Put the transfer fees in the comparison

New Jersey charges a seller a Realty Transfer Fee when the deed is recorded. It is calculated in $500 increments, with rates that rise as the sale price moves into higher bands. For sales of $350,000 or less, the state’s examples are $600 on a $150,000 sale and $935 on a $200,000 sale; above $350,000, a higher schedule applies to the whole price.

A separate graduated percent fee also applies to home sales above $1 million unless the transfer is exempt. Its rate applies to the whole price: 1% over $1 million through $2 million, 2% over $2 million through $2.5 million, 2.5% over $2.5 million through $3 million, 3% over $3 million through $3.5 million, and 3.5% above $3.5 million. Check the state’s rate page for the price band that fits your sale.

When you sell to us, we pay the closing costs, including New Jersey's realty transfer fee and any applicable graduated percent fee. Your mortgage, liens, back taxes, and share of current property taxes are separate.

What you may keep

Sale price and money left after costs are different numbers

Start with a realistic listing price or written offer, then subtract the costs that apply to your sale. Depending on the path, that may include repairs and cleanout, listing commission, closing costs, mortgage payoff, utilities, insurance, and the time you carry the house. A higher sale price does not automatically mean you keep more.

The Trenton calculator lets you change planning assumptions to compare an as-is sale with a listing. Just an estimate — the actual number could be more or less depending on the home's condition.

What sellers say about USA Home Buyers

Here's what sellers across Pennsylvania have said about working with us.

“Montgomery County divorce decree said the property had to be sold to finalize the estate division. The house in Swedeland was in both our names and both of us needed the money to move forward. One written offer, both signed it within an hour of receiving it. Closed in fifteen days.”
Theresa and Mark S.Swedeland, PAAugust 2025
“Lost my position at a consulting firm and burned through savings faster than I expected. The lender filed in Montgomery County Common Pleas. My attorney said I had maybe three months before judgment. I had $83,000 in equity I was about to lose. USA Home Buyers had a written offer the next morning and we closed in twelve days. Case dismissed.”
Vincent R.Bridgeport, PAMay 2025
“I accepted a position at a pharma company in New Jersey and had 30 days to relocate. Listing on the MLS wasn't an option. USA Home Buyers made a written offer within 24 hours and we closed the week before I had to start. Walked away with cash in hand and zero stress.”

No. It summarizes completed sales in the stated place and period; it does not price your particular property. Size, condition, repairs, access, occupancy, title, and timing can change the comparison.

What New Jersey transfer fees should I compare?

The seller-paid Realty Transfer Fee has price-based rate bands. A separate graduated percent fee applies to home sales above $1 million unless exempt. The applicable amount depends on the sale and should be checked against the New Jersey Division of Taxation schedule.

What costs are not covered when I sell to USA Home Buyers?

When you sell to us, we pay the closing costs, including New Jersey’s realty transfer fee and any applicable graduated percent fee. Your mortgage, liens, back taxes, and share of current property taxes are separate.

How can I compare the sale price with what I would keep?

Use the calculator to change the sale price, repairs, cleanout, monthly costs, payoff, and selling-cost assumptions. The result is an estimate, not a property-specific offer; the actual number could be more or less depending on the home’s condition.
